3Commas vs Cryptohopper vs HaasOnline (2026): Which Crypto Bot Should You Use?

3Commas, Cryptohopper and HaasOnline are three of the longest-running crypto trading bot platforms. All three connect to your own exchange account through API keys, so your funds stay on the exchange, but they suit very different traders. We compared their plans, bots and features on each provider's website in October 2026.

Quick verdict

  • 3Commas: best for DCA and TradingView signal bots across many exchanges, with the cheapest entry plan.
  • Cryptohopper: best for beginners who want a cloud bot, a marketplace of strategies and copy bots, and AI strategy switching.
  • HaasOnline: best for advanced traders who want to script their own strategies, run long backtests or self-host.

Pricing compared

3Commas has the simplest pricing: Starter ($20/month, spot only, 5 DCA bots, 2 Signal and 2 Grid bots), Pro ($50/month, futures and 5 API keys per exchange) and Expert ($140/month, near-unlimited bots). Annual billing gives three months free. Cryptohopper charges $29, $69 or $129 a month, and the plan decides how many coins you can trade (15/50/75), how often your strategy is checked (every 10/5/2 minutes) and whether you get AI strategies and arbitrage. HaasOnline is cheapest on paper ($11.99/month) but only when you pay a year upfront in crypto, which saves 40%. Starter allows only 3 bots and 1 month of backtesting.

Which is easiest for beginners?

Cryptohopper is the gentlest start. Your bot runs in the cloud, you can copy a strategy or trader from the marketplace, and paper trading is included. 3Commas offers strategy presets (“Classic trading”, “Super power”, “Super speed”) and a Strategy Gallery, but its DCA settings take time to understand. Our 3Commas DCA settings guide walks through them. HaasOnline has the steepest learning curve, although prebuilt bots and the visual editor help.

Which is best for advanced traders?

HaasOnline wins for depth: its own scripting language (HaasScript), backtests of up to 36 months, the HaasLabs optimiser, 5-second ticks on TradeServer and the option to self-host. 3Commas is the stronger choice if your strategies live in TradingView. Its Signal bot can manage up to 200 pairs and trade long and short from webhook alerts.

Security

All three are non-custodial: they trade through API keys and never hold your funds. Whichever you choose, create keys with trading permission only (no withdrawals), use IP whitelisting where offered (3Commas supports it) and turn on two-factor authentication on your exchange. HaasOnline's self-hosted TradeServer goes a step further by keeping your keys on your own hardware.

Our recommendation

  • Choose 3Commas if you want DCA or TradingView signal bots on several exchanges at a fair price.
  • Choose Cryptohopper if you are newer to bots and want to copy strategies or use AI-assisted switching.
  • Choose HaasOnline if you want to build and test your own strategies in depth, or self-host. Read our HaasOnline review.
